gimme dat chair

Am I allowed to write an entire blog post about one chair? Hopefully, because this is happening. The fall West Elm catalog came this weekend, and I haven't stopped thinking about the Metal Frame Chair since. Aaaand because I usually don't need things anymore after I blog about them, I am blogging about this one ASAP!

Seriously, the metal arms...the blush upholstery...it's so on-trend it's not even funny, and it looks waaaaay higher end than it's $800 price tag. [Sounds like a lot until you shop here for a minute].

It also comes in a dreamy teal, which I may have mentioned is on my brain lately, along with pretty much any shade of blue.

It's so pretty I could design an entire room around it.

I'm loving the start of fall catalog season and all the fun mail days. Anything in the mailbox catching your eye so far??

cozy catalog day

i decided a while ago to abandon monthly "catalog day" posts for two reasons: 1) one of my favorite things to do is sit with a sharpie and a cup of coffee and thumb through a catalog. it's a fun and peaceful five-minute escape. but blogging about what i circled ended up making it feel like work instead of fun, and it went from peaceful to stressful. i only want to blog if it's fun...and that wasn't, so yeah. 2) sometimes i direct deposit my catalogs into the trash without reading them, in order to help me be content with what i already have. i've been doing that the last few months and it's been almost as fun as pretending i'm going to call the 800 number at the bottom of the page and place an order so big it would make beyonce's gold pants seem downright reasonable.

but the pottery barn christmas catalog came this week...and call me basic, but i love that thing. faux fur and cozy knits and stone fireplaces and snowy trees. it's the best kind of escape, and there was no way it was going straight to the trash. we were going to have our five minutes. figured i'd pass those five minutes along to you...because i have to admit, it is pretty fun to geek out with you.

so. do these things make you want to bomb your house with fur and plaid and twinkle lights, or is it just me?

may catalog day

you may notice i'm skipping straight from march to may. everything (in catalog world) in between then and now was just...eh. i didn't really want to post something just to post it. so i didn't!

luckily, with the arrival of the may mailer from west elm, my faith in the system was restored. also luckily, their catalog was small. because i wanted ev-er-y-thing.

so here's what i loved (loved!) from among the may catalogs that graced my mailbox:

above, top to bottom, from west elm:

pom pom throws
mosaic tiled outdoor coffee table
torres wool kilim rug : : iron
raffia trays
huron dining chair

top to bottom from serena & lily:

teak step stool
lanai mirror
lodge quilt & sham : : white
cottage bar cart

top to bottom, from j. crew:

stripe back zip dress : : navy
linen tee in une belle vie
stationery clutch in heart perforated leather : : metallic silver
super ciccio eyeglasses
waffle beach sweater : : heather natural
sophia webster for j. crew alicia pumps

(i saved the best for last there. did you notice the whole collection from sophia webster at j. crew? every shoe was so beautiful, my heart definitely stopped for a second when i saw them).

happy shopping!

february catalog day

one thing i seriously enjoy too much is sitting down at my table in the early morning with a cup of coffee, a stack of catalogs, and a sharpie. here are some of the favorites i circled this month:

above, from williams-sonoma home (clockwise from top left): diamond ikat embroidery pillow cover, hexagonal geometric garden seat, ceramic herringbone vase and blue & white swallow tail ginger jar.

ballard designs was the winner this month with the most marker love:

clervaux tufted ottoman

sofia settee

dayna counter stool (also available in bar height or as a dining chair)

fabric message board. this can be customized with over 150 fabrics and brass or pewter nailheads.

i'm crazy about this, the beaudry mirror, and would love it for my powder room.

audree pom pom quilt bedding in gray. i admit to being an absolute sucker for anything with pom poms though.

moving on to pottery barn:

the best bunnies cupcake stand. squealy noise! they. are. so. cute.

beachcomber extra large round basket.

from williams-sonoma, the le crueset signature cast-iron round dutch oven in quince.

last but not least, from j. crew, the cathleen dress in silk dupioni in warm jade.

happy shopping!
