party at hell hall

sorry, it just seemed like a catchier title than "101 dalmations birthday party hosted by cruella deVil for my 6-year-old daughter's birthday." (did you know that was the nickname for the deVil mansion?)

anyway, my middle child, my only daughter, turned 6 this week. i'm trying to let my kids have as much creative license with their birthdays as i can stomach, and it's hilarious to me what they come up with. for my daughter, the request was a birthday dinner, with only one invited guest, with a 101 dalmations theme, chinese food, an ombre ruffled cake (she chose it from pinterest- that was not a good plan in hindsight), and for me to dress up as cruella deVil. yeah, she's funny.

so we decided that cruella would host an over-the-top dinner at her glamazon mansion and that yes, i would be in full regalia. obviously, i'm still too tired and traumatized to make too much commentary on this post, but i thought you'd enjoy seeing the pictures. and happy birthday to my wonderful, unique, creative 6-year-old!

alright, i know you want to see cruella. funny story...i ordered the wig from amazon and when it arrived i put it on and the kids thought it was hilarious to see me stomping around "smoking" a fairy wand and calling everything "wretched!" in a terrible british accent. they were so enthralled but also so abhorred that someone could "hate puppies" - they started telling me about God! bahahaha! they sat cruella deVil down and told her that Jesus loved her and if she believed in him and asked him into her heart he would forgive her for all of her sins and help her be good and love puppies. i was beside myself with hysteria, and obviously what choice did i have, so i prayed- in my crazy british accent- for God to forgive me for trying to kill puppies and for Jesus to be my Savior. oh, the absurdity of the situation...and the sweetness. my kids' confidence that he can save even the most "wretched" of sinners. so after that, cruella was "good" and nice and offered to host a party out of the goodness of her newly changed heart. love the faith of children. ;-)

and now, to completely demonstrate what a total cheeseball i really am, i give you cruella:

yes, i had it all in my closet except the gloves and the wig. oh, and for another chuckle and to further nail down the coffin of my un-coolness, i could not help but make this after a furry someone committed a little crime the next morning:

yes, these are the kinds of things i spend my free time doing and texting to all my friends. well, anyway, there you have it...our party at cruella deVil's mansion, which we should probably rename now that she's a follower of Jesus. lol!

and happy birthday to my beautiful girl! thank you for an amazingly fun, if totally bizarre, party dahling.
